MJ and Steve have always enjoyed hiking in the woods and
in 2003 discovered the exciting world of collecting
and cooking edible fungi.

The following photos show the progression of the growth of Laetiporus sulphureus on a large oak stump. These photos were taken over nine day period, however I did not take a photo the day when the fungi was just beginning to fruit. The next day it had already grown five times it's initial visable size. You can see that the growth of the fungi near the middle is much faster than the areas near the top and bottom of the stump. The temperatures were in the high 30's at night and 50's during the day which slowed down the growth.
