I recently became a proud member of the Wisconsin Mycological Society and am inspired by the organization’s work to promote awareness and education about mushrooms across our state.
While I’ve not yet had the chance to attend a meeting, I’m eager to become more involved and contribute to this incredible community. |
My passion for sustainability and our interconnectedness with nature began while living in Germany, where I gained a deep appreciation for the natural world and its delicate balance. Mushrooms, in particular, have always fascinated me, as they are some of the most unique and vital life forms on Earth. This past October, I participated in the Ice Age Trail’s Mammoth Challenge, reconnecting with nature on a personal level, photographing countless local mushrooms, and even foraging and preparing my first puffball.
With a certification in Fundraising Management from the Lilly School of Philanthropy, I hope to bring my skills and experience in relationship building, fundraising, and community engagement to the Society. I’m excited about the opportunity to help strengthen outreach, support educational programming, and engage new members in the wonders of Wisconsin’s mycological diversity.
Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to being involved!

If You Suspect a Poisoning
If you suspect you have consumed a poisonous mushroom, contact a physician, the closest hospital ER, poison control center, or dial 911, depending on the severity of the reaction. US Poison Control: 1-800-222-1222 The North American Mycological Association (NAMA) has information that may also be of help. Click here. We do not ID mushrooms through this website.
If you are in need of an ID consider uploading quality photos with multiple views of your specimen and descriptions of your find to Mushroom Observer or iNaturalist including our projects or post in Wild Food Wisconsin or Mushroom Identification Group. If you contact us and provide a way to get back to you, we may be able to provide suggestions for more identification resources you can use. You are always responsible for your own decisions taken on the basis of identification resources. |
