Social Mycology, Community Science & WMS

Join board member Mariah Rogers this 3rd Thursday of the month ! WMS members receive the Zoom address by email.

To start we will identify fungi together from the 2020 virtual foray (https://www.inaturalist.org/.../wms-2020-first-virtual-foray) as people join the meeting.

You can always choose how you participate either by unmuting yourself & speaking or by typing in the chat.

Then at 7pm the main presentation will start. Topics covered will include: WMS members on iNaturalist and Mushroom Observer, learning about mycology online, sharing resources, "community science" and future WMS & FunDiS collaboration.

Please
send in your favorite mycological references & learning resources online & off to WMS on any of our social media or to the email before the Feb 18th meeting.

More discussion/interaction is available on the facebook event discussion.

Our History

Wisconsin Mycological Society (WMS), was established many years ago, dedicated to the study and enjoyment of wild mushrooms and other fungi. Education, photography, safety and nature are our goals.  We do not ID mushrooms through this website.  If you are in need of an ID consider Wild Food Wisconsin or Mushroom Identification Group.
If You Suspect a Poisoning
If you suspect that you have consumed a poisonous mushroom, contact a physician, the closest hospital ER or dial 911.
