“Boozhoo!” (Which means “Greetings!” in Ojibwe)
Peyton is the co-owner of Northern Mushroom Tours with her husband, Arne Martinson. Most recently Peyton received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Northland College in Natural Resources and a minor in Geology.
Clearly, she really loves the outdoors, restoration ecology, plants ...and mushrooms. Growing up Peyton didn’t like mushrooms. It took Arne frying up some Chicken of the Woods for her, and she was sold. Then forays became Arne’s hobby so the two of them trekked out to Telluride and Cable for forays.
Peyton has met some amazing people in the Wisconsin Mycological Society and the North American Mycological Society and she is excited to get more involved. She is currently employed at the Bayfield school teaching students about food sovereignty and nutrition.
Mushroom mentors in her life are Arne, Loras Thier, Bruch Reed, Tavis Lynch, and her lichen bud; Mariah.
