Tri-County foray is located in the home-region of mycologist, mushroom farmer, NorthWestern MycoEnthusiasts organizer, WMS board member, author and Russula guy, Tavis Lynch. What began as a privately-run event created by him and Melissa Klotka is now organized with the Wisconsin Mycological Society. At this very family-friendly event you will learn find experts in mycology, foraging and a focus on wild foods!
While you are welcome to make your own accommodations, tickets include an option to camp at our booked camping and RV sites that will be shared among our group. We have all of the RV sites at the Eagle Point Campground booked this year on the upper camp site, and tents can nestle in as well with plenty of room!

At the foray there will be:
A VIP Plant Hike with Sam Thayer you can sign up for (at a small extra fee)
Sam will take the group into the wilderness for about 2 hours to discuss wild plants that you can find all around you.
You never know where you are going to end up when Sam gets going. He might end up jumping into a marsh with the cattails and show you how to find wapato, or he might even go to the edge of a lawn to show you what lies there waiting to be discovered, but no matter WHAT it will be an adventure!

Workshop with Shelby Dutcher
Shelby is going to be teaching us about elixirs and salves and guiding us in her knowledge of using plants for medicinal purposes.
We are grateful to have her expertise at this event and cannot wait to create incredible concoctions with her!
Cooking Wild Foods
Chris Gavin will lead us through a cooking demonstration that tells us about his favorite wild foods. Chris is an avid outdoorsman and forager, and he creates the most incredible meals that were gathered and hunted by his own hands.
At the end, we will get to taste them!
Last year we were lucky enough to even get to take some of them home!
