Special Guest lineup:

 Sam Thayer

Award-winning author Sam Thayer will take the group into the forest for about 2 hours to discuss wild plants that you can find all around you.

You never know where you are going to end up when Sam gets going.  He might end up jumping into a marsh with the cattails and show you how to find wapato, or he might even go to the edge of a lawn to show you what lies there waiting to be discovered, but no matter WHAT it will be an adventure!

Visit Forager's Harvest  for more about Sam

Jaime Rockney
Jaime will teach us about tree-fungi associations.

Jaime has been
foraging obsessively since 2009 and conducting foraging classes since 2020.  I am a member of the Minnesota Mycological Society, Wisconsin Mycological Society, and North American Mycological Association. I also have three certifications for identification of and selling mushrooms.

Visit
Chick of the Woods for more about Jaime.

Chris Gavin

Wild Foods expert Chris Gavin will lead us through a cooking demonstration that tells us about his favorite wild foods. Chris is an avid outdoorsman and forager, and he creates the most incredible meals that were gathered and hunted by his own hands.

At the end, we will get to taste them!

Chad Hyatt

Chad will be our headline speaker.
C
had Hyatt is an expert forager and classically trained chef who has made a name for himself in northern California and beyond, sharing his delicious spin on wild mushroom cookery. He has cooked in a variety of restaurants and private clubs around the San Francisco Bay area, where he can often be found foraging for mushrooms, putting on wild mushroom-themed dinners, teaching mushroom-related classes, and attending mushroom festivals. He is passionate about cooking approachable comfort food based on local, seasonal ingredients, and, of course, wild mushrooms.

Join us for our Wild Foods pot luck lunch and try some of the most amazing wild foods from your fellow foray attendees!
