🔺Tri-County Foray 2023 🔺

August 31 to September 3 (Thursday to Sunday)

We will visit trails in Burnett + Washburn + Barron Counties

... based in Cumberland, WI this year!

Join us for one of the largest fungi forays in the Midwest!

Picture
Tri-County foray is located in the home-region of mycologist, mushroom farmer, NorthWestern MycoEnthusiasts organizer and noted Russula guy, Tavis Lynch. What began as a privately-run event is now organized with the Wisconsin Mycological Society, still with Tavis very much on board and sharing some of his local spots. At this very family-friendly event you will learn from experts in mycology, foraging and preparing wild foods!

We will have:
- a VIP Plant Hike with Sam Thayer you can sign up for,
- fungi-fabulous forays led by Wisconsin's foremost experts,
- tables of collected fungi to be identified and examined,
- two mycological lectures,
- a tree identification walk with Anna DeMers,
- two catered dinners by the Hilltop Resort included,
- and a food demo with foraged-food expert Chris Gavin,
- kids' activities focused on nature and fungi,
- learning support and recognition for junior mycologists,
- a UV Night hike to look at UV-fluorescent fungi (including lichen!),
- and great conversation with long-time mycology enthusiasts and new learners alike

All tickets include camping on our group site in the Cumberland WI area as an option
